Near-Infrared (NIR) Dyes
NIR dyes absorb and emit light in the near-infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum. They generally have good water solubility, low biotoxicity, and specific tissue or cell targeting capabilities. Many NIR dyes can be modified with targeting molecules to enhance their specificity for certain cells or tissues.
