Fluorinated Alkyl Sources
Fluorinated alkyl sources are compounds containing an alkyl chain with fluorine atoms attached to the carbon atoms. These compounds can be used as solubility enhancing agents to increase the solubility of hydrophobic compounds in polar solvents such as water. The fluorine atoms in the alkyl chain can increase the hydrophobicity of the compound, making it more compatible with non-polar solvents. Fluorinated alkyl sources are often used in the formulation of surfactants, emulsifiers, and other chemical additives. They can also be used to modify the surface properties of materials, such as increasing water repellency or reducing ice adhesion.
