Vonoprazan impurity
Vonoprazan (TAK-438 free base) is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI), a highly potent, orally active potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB) with antisecretory activity. Vonoprazan inhibits H+,K+-ATPase activity in porcine gastric microsomes at pH 6.5 with an IC50 of 19 nM. Vonoprazan is being developed to study gastric acid-related diseases such as gastroesophageal reflux disease and peptic ulcer. Vonoprazan can be used to eradicate Helicobacter pylori.
