Cyclohexane compounds

Cyclohexane is a colorless liquid with a gasoline odor. Cyclohexane is used to make cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone. A small amount is used as a solvent for industry and coatings. It is an excellent solvent for products such as resins, fats, butyl rubber, and paraffin oils. Cyclohexane is also used in the synthesis of pharmaceutical intermediates, as a general solvent, and as a standard substance for chromatographic analysis.
